Team Cobalt California welcomes Special Olympics at Grand Am Cup Finale.

September 27, 2006

BENICIA, Calif. – The Special Olympics Virginia – Halifax County Program will
join Team Cobalt California in the last race of the 2006 Grand-Am Cup season.

Special Olympiads from the area will help prepare the Chevrolet Cobalt SS
Supercharged cars during the Oct. 6-8 weekend at VIRginia International
Raceway near Alton, Va.

“We are really looking forward to sharing this weekend with Special Olympics
Virginia,” team co-owner Robyn Lepper said. “We always enjoy bringing local
fans into our paddock to share in the racing experience.”
The Special Olympics is a sports organization that offers a year-round program
of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults who are
mentally challenged.  They celebrate the spirit, courage, and determination of
the mentally disabled in Virginia and throughout the country.

Several members, volunteers, and parents of the local Special Olympic will
join Team Cobalt California in bringing the Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged
racecars over the finish line.

This is not a new experience for team co-owner Tom Lepper, who has
participated in several Special Olympics events in the Northern California area.

“The kids got a real kick out of seeing and sitting in the race cars,” Tom
Lepper said. “The looks on their faces makes the whole day worth while.”
With the help of General Motors Performance Division, Team Cobalt California
car No. 48 driven by Aaron Povoledo, Christopher Zakin, and Jack Mardikian
and car No. 98 driven by VJ Mirzayan and Sean Hayes plans to be among the
top finishers in Grand Am Cup’s signature six hour endurance race.
