I have been hooked on racing ever since my father took me to see the
Indianapolis 500 when I was 15 years old. After graduating from high
working for several of the “big names” in racing, developing internet-
based applications for their fan clubs.
In 2000, I decided that I needed to get back behind the wheel and I
started competing in autocross events with my local SCCA region. My
first year of autocross, I finished 6th in the season points. I competed in
the autocross events for 2 more years, finishing 5th in the points in 2001
and 3rd in 2002.
I started on track events during 2003 with the National Auto Sport
Association (NASA), running in their HPDE program. By the time that
August came around, I wanted to go wheel to wheel so I started
competing in the NASA TT program. I won the NASA Midwest TTB
championship in 2004, my first full year of competition. I tied in the NASA
TTB championship points for 2005, officially finishing 2nd because I lost
the tiebreaker by having fewer wins. In 2006, I competed in NASA TT and
I started racing NASA’s Spec Miata class. I finished 2nd in the 2006 TTB
championship and, even though I missed 6 races, I finished 6th in the
Spec Miata class out of 42 competitors.
